Description: Rug hooked mini dress depicting Newfoundland harbour scene clean up with mermaids and fisherman completed with back zip closure and hand beaded embellishments.
The hand drawn pattern was inspired by the work of Clean Harbours Initiative, the brainchild of Shawn Bath who took it upon himself to begin cleaning up the harbours around the island. Also inspired by stories of the mythical mermaids and other sea creatures of our ocean, showing Shawn’s boat receiving unnatural sea items from the depths.

Media used: 100% wool yarns by dyed by Foggy Rock Fibers and Briggs & Little, Rug warp, natural dyes, acid dyes, recycled fibers, beads & shells.
Techniques used: Rug hooking, pattern drafting, beading, machine stitching, hand stitching.

Description: Arctic harvested seaweed circles dusted with green mica and sealed with resin. Stainless steel posts complete the earrings. The Selkie enjoy their fashion pieces from the sea.
