ARTIST STATEMENT
I draw my inspiration from an emotion and render it into art. From sketching to the confection of wearable art, it’s that emotion that permeates through the entire process, which ignites me. Yet there is a special sense of fulfilment when a subject awakens an emotion that inspires a silhouette in the imagination, then gets rendered into an illustration, to then appear as a completed garment on someone who has adapted my creation in their visual identity. This is my ultimate fascination with fashion as it requires so many artistic fields to accomplish a single piece. Yet in the end, the philosophical ideology that I wove through fabric manipulation and details gets reinterpreted by the wearer. And the emotion I once wished to convey no longer belongs to me, but rather those admiring the wearer of the piece.
